Meet the Chiropractor

Dr. Michelle Krenek

Dr. Krenek has been serving the San Antonio community for almost eight years now since she started Back To Life Chiropractic in September, 2010. Although she is not a native, through high school she competed with an AAU Basketball team out of San Antonio. She is also a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio and was an Anatomy and Physiology professor there when she returned to San Antonio. She is passionately serving the San Antonio area with her patients ranging from newborns to elderly. She is the chiropractor for the WNBA San Antonio Stars, some of the Spurs and many high school athletes in the community.

Dr. Krenek graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic, Dallas, in December 2008 with Cum Laude honors. While waiting to receive her license she worked with Irene Gold Associates teaching doctors and students around the country how to pass their national board tests. After receiving her license in 2009 she co-opened her first practice in Houston, Texas. While in Houston she made monthly appearances on Great Day Houston and co-hosted her own radio show on Saturday mornings called "Get Your Life Back".

Prior to becoming a chiropractor Dr. Krenek was known as Coach Krenek. She played collegiate level basketball at Temple Junior College where she received her Associate's degree and then continuted her academic and athletic venture at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Dr. Krenek was forced to retire, or redshirt, her last year of college basketball due to severe plantar fasciitis; a condition she helps people with weekly at BTL. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology and K-12 Physical Education in December 2002 from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She went on to coach basketball and volleyball and teach Algebra at Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas. On her way to practice one day, she narrowly escaped hitting a stalled car but was rear ended by another traveling 50-60 mph. She was rushed to the emergency room where she was given muscle relaxors and pain medication. She was sent home and diagnosed as "okay". A few months later, while coaching and teaching at Copperas Cove High School, she was having terrible headaches, lack of energy, pain in her right neck, shoulder and arm and she also noticed she was not feeling well much of the time. One of her best friends recommended she see her chiropractor. Not knowing much about chiropractic and being a bit skeptical she went. Within a few visits she was sleeping great, filled with energy and out of pain. Not only did she experience all of these things but she also noticed a huge change in her immune system! This is when she knew she had found her calling....

I, Dr. Michelle, knew at that moment my life was about to change drastically. As a child I always wanted to be a doctor. I knew that but at that time I did not realize that I wanted to heal people and change their lives through the power of chiropractic. As I went to chiropractic school I learned more and more about the amazing body we have and how it is able to heal itself when all the interference is removed and it can function at 100%. At BTL we see babies to athletes to seniors and everyone in between! Everyday we witness chiropractic miracles and I am still humbled by each and every one of them.

Dr. Krenek takes a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Krenek will be able to determine the root of the problem and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. Under the supervision and care of Dr. Krenek, patients report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.
